UDIMA since its condition of Open University and its innovative methodology and technology, has designed this formative program directed to professors, investigators and educators with the objective to qualify them in the knowledge and employment of the new technologies of the communication and the information, as well as that of the new formative models e-learning and b-learning, for the benefit of the formative actions in the new educational contexts.

It intends because of it to form professors that know, assume and adapt the new technologies to their educational needs and researches.

At the same time, it tries to deepen in the knowledge of the possibilities that offers the emerging and current technologies to find new forms of obtaining and management of information in educational environments.

Addressed to

The Title of University Master in Education and New Technologies is of investigating character, being directed fundamentally to qualified students (Graduates, and Licentiates) of the branch of Legal and Social Sciences, with the purpose of obtaining a sufficient specialization for the correct performance of the functions of an expert in Education and New Technologies.

It is important to point out that this formative program does not require a prior experience in the educational environment, but intends to give an integral formation to the student, efficient and progressive, starting with establishing the knowledge of new technologies applied to Education.

Main objetive of the Master

UDIMA, as University specifically oriented to the use of the TIC and the methodology and system of associated evaluation to the distance learning, has conceived the presente Master, with the objective to explore the potentialities of the new technologies in educational and research uses, inside the framework of higher education.

This training program's main objective is that "the student, take and adapt new technologies into their teaching and research needs".

The teaching system

The training model is based on the UDIMA Distance Education, making intensive use of Information Technology and Communication (ICT) to facilitate the educational process.

The evaluation system of learning at UDIMA aims to develop and, where appropriate, to overcome different types of activities. The percentage weights established to assess the activities of each subject will be described in detail in the file for each module or subject contained in the planning of education and will be established using the minimum and maximum set out in the following table:

In all subjects there will be a college track student achievement through the grade of learning activities based on the characteristics of the European Higher Education Area.

Associated Assessment System to Final Master Work

The Final Master work has a special feature because it is a personal theme work and directed individually to each student according to this issue. This makes the evaluation of it does not comply with the evaluation methodology defined by the UDIMA for the rest of the subjects in this curriculum.

Final Master Work will be led by a tutor who will guide and evaluate the student at different stages of implementation, according to a work established at the beginning of the course, once the objectives of the Work are determined.

The Title of Master's Degree in Education and New Technologies includes 60 credits distributed as follows:

The set of subjects included in this University Curriculum is divided into three distinct learning modules:

  • The Technology Module includes the study of subjects of advanced on-line learning, Innovations in E-Learning, Applied Research in Educational Technology, Collaborative environments, E-Portfolios, Metaverses, Virtual Learning Environments and Open Content. These materials provide the study of experimentation, innovation and applied to the utilities and the potential, technological and pedagogical of these digital tools in global education have.
  • In the Education Module are established as subjects of study units of educational trends for the XXI century, new models and resources in teaching and Design of E-Learning and B-Learning Training Programmes, allowing students to gain an overview of theories and advanced techniques associated with the application of new technologies to the Education of the Information Society and those considered as new trends in education for the XXI Century.
  • The Communication Module has three different subjects; Mobile Learning, Media and Social Networks and Blogs. These materials are designed to provide students with practical knowledge of the Master and efficiently on the ways in which to develop interaction and communication flows in any teaching-learning process on-line. Exploring new ways of transmitting knowledge through different communication channels and media devices that can generate innovative learning communities.

Having overcome the units of compulsory modules, students will undertake a Final Master work where they will put into play their new skills and abilities by conducting a research project, either by developing a B-Learning curriculum or E-Learning, or the Emerging Technologies studied in different optional subjects, thereby making possible a final assessment that will set the level of their acquisition of the necessary practice for the performance of their duties.
