Brief description of the Group and Objectives:

Multidisciplinary research group on the inclusion of the gender perspective in higher education, with emphasis on the STEAM field. This group is committed to research-action around the promotion of gender equality from education, through inclusive discourse and language, the visibility of female role models, the selection and design of educational materials and the continuous training of the teaching staff. With action-research we refer to dealing simultaneously with knowledge and its application in reality, so that theory and practice continually feed off each other. The results of the research will guide the design of gender-integrating learning situations, from the use of language to the creation of materials, tools and teaching resources, and knowledge will be transferred to the rest of the educational levels. This group aims to promote change in the perception of the role of women in society not only among students, but also among teachers. Finally, we also seek to promote the use of innovative methodologies and digital tools among teachers, with the aim of improving student motivation and the results of the teaching-learning process.

  • To determine which are the most relevant elements to effectively integrate the gender perspective in higher education (discourse and language, content selection, methodology, pedagogical agents, etc.).
  • To design specific actions, informed by scientific evidence, to include the gender perspective in education.
  • To make women visible in traditionally masculinized fields of knowledge, as is the case of the STEAM field.
  • To transfer the results obtained to the rest of educational levels.
  • To raise awareness, among teaching staff, of the importance of education from a gender perspective.
  • To encourage teachers to use digital tools in education.

Lines of research:

  • Inclusion of the gender perspective in higher education.
  • Promotion of women in STEAM fields.
  • Educational innovation by using digital tools.
