GI-25/5 AXIS-Cog: Action, eXperience & Interaction Systems in Cognitive Science
Group Coordinator:
Members of the Research Group:
Keywords:
- Embodied cognition, Sensory substitution, Accessibility, Human experience, Inclusion technologies
Short description of the Group and objectives:
This research group explores how bodily and perceptual experience can inspire the design of digital health interventions, and how sensory substitution technologies, grounded in embodied cognition, can foster accessibility, learning, and rehabilitation. The group works from an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating psychology, philosophy, design, human-computer interaction, and assistive technologies to address the challenges of inclusion, health, and adaptive learning.
Objectives:
- Advance knowledge on embodied cognition, perception, and philosophy of the body in relation to health, accessibility, and learning processes.
- Design and evaluate digital health interventions that build on bodily and perceptual experience, guided by theoretical and philosophical frameworks that shape their human and social impact.
- Develop and test sensory substitution technologies that enable new forms of learning, interaction, and participation for people with sensory disabilities
Investigation lines:
Experiencia corporal y perceptiva para el diseño de intervenciones digitales / Bodily and perceptual experience for the design of digital interventions.
